Telus Samsung Galaxy S II X Smartphone Release Confirmed For October 28th

Telus Confirms The Samsung Galaxy S II X Release Date As October 28th, Pricing Still Rumored To Be $99.99 On A Three-Year Agreement

Telus has finally confirmed the release date for the previously announced Samsung Galaxy S II X smartphone. Though, while that little bit comes as a nice end for that rumor, we are still left with a rumor in terms of the pricing. But that being said, the release date is coming up rather quickly so one way or another the official pricing will be revealed fairly soon.

Anyway, without further adieu, Telus will have the Samsung Galaxy S II X available on October 28th. And for those without a calendar handy, that is one week from today. Otherwise, touching back on the rumored pricing for a moment, that is believed to be $99.99 on a three-year agreement. And as of this time, nothing has been mentioned (rumored or otherwise) in terms of the no-term pricing.

As for the specs, Telus looks to be getting a rather nice handset. The Galaxy S II X (aka Hercules) will feature a 4.5 inch (800 x 480) Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, microSD card slot and 16GB of internal storage. In addition, the handset will arrive sporting a 2 megapixel front facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with 1080p HD video recording, 4x digital zoom and LED flash.

Otherwise, the Galaxy S II X will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. With that, we still think the Galaxy S II X will do really well with Telus, especially given the sub-$100 price point, however we cannot help but think that some will be disappointed in Gingerbread given Ice Cream Sandwich is now official. But hey, there is the real possibility of an update in the future. Of course, any upgrade will likely take a few months (at best) to arrive so it looks like you will need to be happy with Gingerbread before committing.
