Sony Ericsson Announces Ice Cream Sandwich For All 2011 Xperia Devices
It looks like we have some additional Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich related details coming available this morning. Except, these latest are not dealing with any features but instead the other big question — existing device updates. This latest bit is coming from Sony Ericsson, who seem just a bit more committed as compared to HTC, though that is not to say anything bad about HTC, it is just that they have yet to offer much in terms of which devices.

Anyway, diving right in, here is what Sony Ericsson had to say in regards to Ice Cream Sandwich;
Sony Ericsson is currently rolling out the upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.4 across its entire 2011 Xperia smartphone portfolio. This software upgrade will be available through a phased roll out in select markets. Beyond Gingerbread 2.3.4, we plan to upgrade our 2011 Xperia smartphone portfolio to the next Android platform made available to us.
Of course, in addition to Ice Cream Sandwich there is also that bit of good Gingerbread related news for anyone with a 2011 released Xperia device. But that being said, while things are looking good for Xperia device users, we are still left wondering when. Yup, nothing was given as to when users could expect to begin seeing Android 4.0.
And lastly, for those who may have missed the word from HTC, here is what they had to say;

Our goal for Android updates is to give every customer an improved user experience, which means balancing each phone’s unique hardware, HTC Sense experience and the Android kernel.
