Next Xbox Console To Show Up At E3 2013, Say Reports
A new report has emerged today, suggesting that chipmakers and software makers alike look for Microsoft to start showing off its big new console in about a year and a half. And it’s the evidence supporting this claim that will raise your eyebrows.

Make no mistake, Microsoft has given us a lot to chew on of late in the hardware market, between the Kinect and the Xbox home theater plans and everything else they’ve been pulling out of the proverbial hat these last few months. But seeing as how the Xbox 360 is now pushing six years old, people are beginning to wonder when they’re going to bring out the next one. And judging from the reports today, the word is that E3 2013 will see this one, and the release will come shortly thereafter, in time for the holiday shopping frenzies. And not only that, they say that this will be backed up by a release from Lionhead Games, who in turn is said to be working up a new Fable release called “Fable Next” for the device.
All this would be so much smoke and mirrors if it weren’t for some evidence to back it up. Seems that a reported check of some Microsoft employees’ LinkedIn pages revealed that some of them were now working on the project, with Jeff Faulkner looking to run something that’s being called “Xbox Next Gen”.
Of course, none of this is as good as an official announcement, and one of those certainly won’t be coming any time soon. Perhaps we’ll hear about it at the next E3, but even these reports would seem to suggest that full word is still better than a year away. Still, I figure most of us are looking forward to seeing what Microsoft next pulls out of its collective hat.
What do you guys think about this? Figure we’re still about two years out from seeing the newest Xbox? Has it been too long a wait already? Or do you figure they’re taking their time to ensure no more red-ring-of-death episodes? No matter what you think, we want to hear what that is. So head on down to the comments section and tell us what’s on your mind!
