Siri Can Update Facebook & Twitter on iPhone 4S for You
It’s no secret by now that Siri isn’t perfect. Amusing, entertaining, and fun, yes. But riddled with issues for some. And for those outside the United States, Siri’s functions are quite limited. One global limitation that can be circumvented, however, is updating Facebook and Twitter through Siri. You have to have the proper text messaging and data plans so you don’t go over any monthly phone bill budget you might have, but it essentially works.

Siri can’t interact with third-party apps on the iPhone 4S, but it can send text messages for you. Knowing that, Steven Chi of Redmondpie devised a way to update Facebook and Twitter status with Siri through the use of the social networks’ SMS updating capability. Just enable SMS updates on your Facebook and Twitter pages. Once you have your SMS numbers for Facebook and Twitter, save them on your iPhone 4S, and you can start commanding Siri to send text messages through them so you can update your status!
