Ice Cream Sandwich To Roll Out To Android Devices Weeks After Galaxy Nexus Release
Wherever on the internet you go, whether be it on Twitter or Facebook or some other more obscure social network, the Android community’s pumped about the Ice Cream Sandwich. People want it running on their devices yesterday, and they want it so much they’ll consider ditching their older Android devices to get the Galaxy Nexus just so they can have an early taste of the Ice Cream Sandwich.

We all know that Android updates aren’t anything like iOS updates. We don’t all get them at the same time due to manufacturer and carrier restrictions. But if you’re one of those burning for the Ice Cream Sandwich, you’d be pleased to know that Andy Rubin from Google confirms that it’ll roll out to other Android devices weeks after the release of Galaxy Nexus. Seeing as earlier reports suggest we’re getting both the Nexus and Android 4.0 in November, I’m guessing the OS is rolling out by the end of that month. Of course, when you’re getting it exactly depends on your phone and your carrier.
Also, during the talk with Walt Mossberg of AllThingsD, Rubin was asked if Verizon is really getting the Galaxy Nexus first as per rumors suggest. But while he confirmed the availability of ICS in November, mum’s the word when it comes to Nexus’s first carrier.
