Dolphin Browser HD For Android Updated To Version 7.0

We are fairly big fans of the Dolphin Browser here at TFTS, especially considering the browser is now available for Android devices as well as the iPhone and iPad. Of course, the big news for Dolphin today comes with a new version of the Dolphin Browser HD app for Android.

The app has been updated to version 7.0 and with the new number comes some new features. But first, lets discuss the availability of this release, which just may annoy some. The Dolphin Browser HD 7.0 app has been released and anyone can download and install it, however it is only available by way of GetJar.

In other words, those who downloaded and installed it from the Android Market are not going to be seeing an update. Thankfully though, while an annoyance, this is not a permanent situation. The app is available exclusively with GetJar for five days, and afterward it will come available by way of the Android Market.

In summary, Dolphin Browser HD 7.0 is available with GetJar today and will arrive in the Android Market on October 23rd.

With that out of the way, lets discuss the new features that have been added. The first includes something called Dolphin Connect which is described as being able to “sync your browsing preferences, bookmarks and gestures across all Android tablets.” Sounds nice for the person using an Android smartphone and an Android tablet. And for those with an iOS device feeling left out, worry not because that is said to be on its way.

In addition, the browser has also had some “significant enhancements” to the Webzine feature. For this, there is now a Featured section which will include the “community’s 16 most popular Webzine channels directly on the home screen.” Otherwise, the Webzine has also had a “comprehensive facelift” which is said to have brought easier navigation, a smoother interface and the ability to jump between the Webzine, mobile or desktop views with a single touch of a button that is in the address bar.
