Sega Announces New Sonic Generations Demo
So let me get this straight – Sonic Generations looks absolutely amazing, is hands-down the best-looking Sonic game in nearly a decade, already had a demo, and is out just two weeks from now, and you want another demo? Sheesh, do you Sonic fans ever lay off the demands?

Luckily for you, Sega is easily swayed to the will of its fans. They announced today that they’ll be giving the Sonic Generations demo another go, saying that the Xbox Live Arcade version will go live tomorrow, followed by the PSN version on October 25th. Sorry PC owners – even though you’re getting a version of your own, it looks like you won’t be able to try before you buy.
This new demo will bring us back to Green Hill Zone, but this time around we’ll be able to play modern Sonic’s portion of the level. Really, so far I haven’t been able to care much about the modern portions of the game, but hopefully Sega can pull it off; otherwise, we’ll have a game that’s half awesome and half lame.
If you somehow missed the classic demo when it was released over the summer, never fear! Sega says that the classic portion of Green Hill Zone will be available in this demo as well, meaning that we’ll be getting the full effect. Really, I don’t know why they didn’t just keep the demo up on Xbox Live and PSN in the first place, especially considering that this game needs all the positive publicity it can get, but hey, that’s Sega for you.
Did anyone check out the demo the first time around? If so, what did you think? Will you be checking out the modern take on Green Hill Zone, or are you not that interested in modern Sonic’s role in Sonic Generations?
