iPhone 4 Might Have Better Battery than iPhone 4S

iPhone 4S might be louder than iPhone 4, but when it comes to battery life the older handset might be quite superior than the newer one. A recent review of the new iPhone 4S pits it against the iPhone 4 in several aspects. One feature in which it mostly lost was the battery life.

iLounge published a comprehensive review of the iPhone 4S including a pretty thorough comparative reviews of battery life. Its tests find that when it comes to using 3G data, WiFi, and video playback and recording, the iPhone 4 lasts longer than the iPhone 4S. When it comes to using FaceTime and voice calls, though, iPhone 4S lasts longer. That means if you have to be constantly connected to the internet through 3G, the iPhone 4 might be a better choice for you.

Another finding relevant to battery life is that the Sprint version of the iPhone 4S lags behind the units of the other carriers. Whereas usage of 3G data lasted the Verizon and AT&T units around 5 hours and 54 minutes, the Sprint version lasted only 5 hours and 23 minutes. When it comes to voice calls, the AT&T model lasted 7 and 6 minutes, the Verizon model lasted 8 hours and 27 minutes, while Sprint’s model only lasted 6 hours and 27 minutes.
