Batman: Arkham City releases on PS3 and Xbox 360 next week! I’m very excited for this game, even though I’m going to have to wait for the PC version. It goes without saying that masses of other people are excited too, and most of them already have it pre-ordered. If you’re one of the few who don’t, though, then pay attention, because Blockbuster has just announced a pretty awesome deal that’s sure to turn some heads.

Yes, that Blockbuster – the one the was beaten to a pulp by Netflix and then kicked to the curb. Our man Steve Andersen just wrote about why he’s giving Blockbuster another look, and if you’re a gamer, here’s why you should too: Blockbuster is giving everyone who pre-orders Batman: Arkham City a free month of movie and game rentals. All you need to do is head to Blockbuster and plop down $10 towards your purchase. Your free month of rentals will begin when you go to pick it up next week.

I have to say, this is one of the most awesome pre-order bonuses I’ve seen. Sure, you may have trouble finding a game to rent that doesn’t use online pass, thus making your rental only halfway functional, but hey, it’s free! Who doesn’t love free?

Make no mistake, if you haven’t secured your pre-order for Batman: Arkham City yet, Blockbuster seems to be the place to do it. Now, the only problem you may face is finding a Blockbuster store in your area – they’ve all but disappeared from where I live, and they used to be all over the place.
