Samsung Galaxy S III Has An Unexpected Leak

Details Emerge About The Followup To The Still Unreleased Samsung Galaxy S II, The Samsung Galaxy S III

Strange bit of news for you today, folks, as while we’re still waiting for Samsung Galaxy S II units to land for sale on some store shelves, early word has leaked out around its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S III. And the Samsung Galaxy S III is looking surprisingly sharp indeed, if the early word holds out to release.

The early word in question came from a leaked presentation slide from a Samsung slideshow, complete with prohibitions against copying and reproduction. And the phone in question is looking pretty interesting in its own right. How interesting? Well, the Samsung Galaxy S III is set to offer up a dual core Exynos 4212 processor running at 1.8 GHz. Not bad, but then tack on the additional two gigs of RAM, the 12 megapixel rear camera, the 4.6 inch Super AMOLED Plus HD display, and the bizarre four button controls on the lower front, and you’ve got a device that adds up to be looking pretty nice.

Of course, this word already has more than a few people talking about the specs, and wondering why the slide in question (pictured directly below) says that the first Galaxy S runs an Exynos processor as opposed to a Hummingbird processor, not to mention the various other typos on the slide, which are present in a surprisingly large number for this to be a corporate slide. However, with CES lurking in the wings just a few months out–about three and a half of them, really–it’s not out of line to suggest that Samsung may be quietly working on a new device to eventually supplant the current, especially in light of the various issues it’s been having of late in the smartphone arena.

It will remain to be seen just how much of this actually falls into place, but considering that there are two major trade shows in the not too distant future, both CES and the Mobile World Congress show, it’s not out of line to say something’s in the works at Samsung.

But what do you guys think here? Find yourself skeptical of this new possible phone from Samsung? Or do you think this is a fair bet on the Samsung Galaxy S III? Either way, we want to hear from you, so head on down to the comments section and tell us what you think!

    2. That does assume this turns out to be valid. But it’s safe to say that it will be coming at some point, even if it doesn’t look like this.
