Rocksteady Thinks Superman, Green Lantern Game Would Be 'Fun'
Superhero games, like superhero movies, have a checkered past. Some of them, like Spider-Man 2, X-Men Legends, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, have been a blast to play, while others, like pretty much every Superman game in existence, have been absolutely terrible.

Then Rocksteady came along and gave us Batman: Arkham Asylum. Batman: Arkham Asylum raised the bar for superhero games to a new level. In no uncertain terms, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a masterpiece when held up against any other superhero game on the market, perhaps only bested by its upcoming sequel, Batman: Arkham City.
But Rocksteady can’t make Batman games forever, so have they considered any other superheros they like to make a video game about? As a matter of fact, they have. Speaking to OXM UK in a round table interview, Rocksteady’s Paul Dini explained what other superheros he’d like to see featured in one of his studio’s games:
Well Batman is pretty much real world-centric. So if I was going to do another comic book based game I would probably want a hero that had, you know – I would probably want to amp it up a bit as far as the power level goes and do more of a superhero with more superpowers. Batman is pretty much a self-trained guy, I think it would be fun to do a character like Superman or Captain Marvel or maybe Green Lantern, somebody who’s got a completely different resource for fighting crime and fighting villains.
Dini went onto explain that he’d really like to delve into aspects of Superman’s character that haven’t been explored in past games. Seeing as how Superman is my favorite superhero, I’m all for that, and I’ve been waiting for years for someone to do Superman justice with a quality game.
Whatever Rocksteady’s plans for the future are, they’re going to have to wait. Right now the studio is busy with getting Batman: Arkham City out the door, and if they can deliver another stellar superhero adventure like Arkham Asylum, it’s going to be an absolute blast.
