RIM Releases BlackBerry PlayBook Software Update
It has been a little over a month since we last saw an update come available for the BlackBerry PlayBook. But the good news today, an update is now ready and waiting for all PlayBook users. That being said, the update is nothing major, however given the recent chatter about the PlayBook maybe coming close to an EOL status, the update is nice to see.

Anyway, the details here are rather short and sweet — the update comes along with a security fix for the Adobe Flash Player. Breaking that down a bit further and we can say that this latest update comes as a 29MB download and that it will bring the tablet up to version 1.0.7.3312 and perhaps most annoying — it will require a reboot to complete the process.
Otherwise, the update will obviously need to be downloaded over a Wi-Fi connection and just in case anyone is running low on battery — the PlayBook will only update if the battery is above 20 percent or if it is plugged in to a power source.
For those sporting a PlayBook, we suspect you will know how to get these updates, especially considering they were once coming at a rate of about one per month. But that aside, there may still be some new users and that being the case — in order to update you will need to tap the Settings icon in the top right hand corner and then go to “Software Update.” Once at that point you may see the update is available or at the very least, you can do a quick check by hitting the appropriate button.
And just like that, the BlackBerry PlayBook seems to still be alive and kicking. Now if RIM could speed up the update process and get the tablet up to version 2.0 with all the expected goodies.
