Let's Talk iPhone: Apple Stores Post Amazing Numbers Following Asian Openings
If you’ve been to an Apple store lately, then you know that sometimes they can get pretty crowded. And if you happened to be at one of the new stores Apple opened in Asia, then you may have found it hard to actually get in one. Apple announced some of its numbers from the Asian openings, and they were a sight in their own right.

Tim Cook gave the rundown, telling us that the Shanghai store, the largest such Apple store in Asia, opened to fully 100,000 people on opening weekend. And that number sounds like a lot, but it only gets more eye-popping when you realize that the Los Angeles Apple Store took fully a month to see that many people show up. And then he filled us in on Mac sales in Hong Kong, telling us that the Hong Kong store sold more Macs than any other store in the world on its opening day.
Considering that not so long ago, there were smuggling rings devoted to Apple products in some parts of Asia, not to mention entire fake Apple Stores cropping up throughout China, a shot at the real thing would no doubt have been met with disturbing numbers of customers. The actual numbers, meanwhile, are utterly jaw-dropping.
