Kobo Vox Ereader/Tablet Specs Outed By Canadian Retailer
The Kobo Vox was recently outed in an FCC filing and while that was nice to see, it did not give us all that much to go on with the exception of a description of an eReader Tablet. That being said, we sort of suspected that it was going to be a device to compete with the Nook Color.

And since Amazon had their recent event, we also know that it will also be competing with the Amazon Kindle Fire. But that aside, getting back to the Kobo Vox — the FCC filing was nice to see because it gave us an early peak, however this most recent leak gave us not just a teaser but a complete set of details.
This latest came by way of Canadian retailer Future Shop who for a brief time had the product listing on their site — including the specs, pricing and release date. Getting right in here, the Kobo Vox ereader tablet is expected to begin shipping on October 17th with a $249 price tag. Though, that price seems a bit unfortunate given we know that price of the Kindle Fire — $199.
Anyway, in terms of specs, the Kobo Vox will arrive with a 7 inch (1024 x 600) LCD touchscreen display, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB, headphone jack, built-in speaker, microSD card slot and 8GB of internal storage space. In terms of file support, that was noted as being ePub, PDF, Adobe DRM and of course, ebooks from the Kobo store. Other goodies to include a battery life of up to 6 hours, a weight of 400 grams and measurements of 12.8 (W) x 19.2 (H) x 1.3 (D) cm.
With that, while the listing seems to be the real deal and one that was simply published a bit ahead of schedule — we remind you of this — this information has yet to be officially announced by Kobo which means any and all of it could still change.
