HTC Vigor Accessory Recommendations Appear on Verizon’s Website Ahead of Release Date

Big Red to Sell New 4G LTE Android Smartphone as Vigor by HTC?

The HTC Vigor shouldn’t need any more introductions following the plethora of Vigor leaks we’ve seen so far. The device is expected to be announced on October 6, at a special HTC event, and released thereafter by Verizon although there’s no clear launch date for the handset yet.

Today we’re looking at a new leaks, this time showing “recommended accessories for: Vigor by HTC.” The screenshot below shows Verizon’s website which appears to confirm the final product name of the handset: Vigor by HTC.

That’s certainly interesting, as the smartphone has been previously rumored to be called the HTC Thunderbolt 2 and the HTC Droid Incredible HD. Now Verizon appears to be more interested in launching the device under a new product name, although we’ll still have to wait for official confirmation from either HTC or Big Red on the smartphone’s official name.

Earlier this week we saw images of the device get leaked revealing not only the overall design of this Verizon-bound Android handset but also the fact that it’s 4G LTE handset.

On top of that we also have leaked specs and features for the Vigor by HTC, which we expect to be confirmed in the following weeks:

  • 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 720p HD resolution
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash
  • 2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with HTC Sense UI on top

The device certainly looks interesting enough and these unofficial specs and features seem to match the Amaze 4G, previously known as the Ruby, which was just announced by T-Mobile.

But the Vigor by HTC may have a tough battle ahead for public attention as Verizon is not only expected to launch the new iPhone 5 version or versions but also the next Nexus phone, dubbed as the Galaxy Nexus or Nexus Prime and expected to hit stores in late October or early November.

      Nexus Prime!!!!

I waited all year for the Bionic but then got sidetracked by rumors about Nexus Prime so now I find myself waiting for Nexus Prime/Droid Prime on Verizon. If that doesn’t materialize, then I would consider the LG Revolution 2 or the HTC Vigor. I’m a little bit interested in the iPhone 5 and the rumored killer app it has as well.

I love My Droid Incredible, which has worked great for the 16 months I’ve had it, the Vigor looks to be the only phone worth upgrading to. A phone with this much bang should have been released 6 months ago. IPhone and Motorola can’t touch the vigor!
