HTC Flyer Tablet Dropping To $299 With Best Buy
While the reasoning behind the decision is not entirely clear, it looks like Best Buy will soon be selling the HTC Flyer tablet for quite a bit less. In fact, beginning tomorrow October 1st, the tablet will cost $200 less.

The details come by way of a recently released Best Buy press release, where they state that the HTC Flyer price will drop from $499.99 down to $299.99 beginning tomorrow. And for those wondering, this will be a permanent price cut.
“Best Buy, a leading retailer of consumer technology products, today announced it is reducing the price of the HTC Flyer from $499.99 to $299.99 starting Saturday, Oct. 1. Customers can take advantage of this permanent lower price online at BestBuy.com and at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores nationwide.”
In terms of the tablet, and now that is has a much more affordable price, we suspect there may be some renewed interest. That being said, lets recap those specs. The HTC Flyer has a 7 inch (1024 x 600) touchscreen display, 1.5GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 4000 mAh battery, microSD card slot, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, 5 megapixel rear facing camera and Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC’s Sense user interface on top.
And granted, this may not be the newest tablet to hit the available lineup, however given its running Gingerbread it does not yet feel that outdated. Not to mention, this could be a nice alternative for the person who wants an Android tablet and is not a fan of Honeycomb. Plus, the HTC Flyer also has support for the digital Scribe pen, which may be a perk for those who prefer to take digital notes by hand.
Bottom line, if you had been considering the purchase of an HTC Flyer and had been turned off because of the price — now seems like a good time to make your move.
