10.1 Inch Kindle Fire By Christmas, Say Insiders

Reports Suggest That Amazon May Have A Much More Ambitious Schedule For The Kindle Fire's Release Than Previously Thought

The Kindle Fire is proceeding like a house, well, afire, but some interesting news emerged today that may make you want to put a hold on that preorder. According to some recently emerged reports, there may be a brand new Kindle Fire to come out by Christmas, and the biggest difference is in the screen size.

The current reports are suggesting that Amazon’s release schedule for the Kindle Fire may be a whole lot faster than expected, and while a new, bigger Kindle Fire was looking at emerging after Christmas, it may have been bumped up to before Christmas. But these reports come with some interesting constraints all their own, including the fact that the seven inch version isn’t even set to ship until November 15th in its own right. For this to happen, the ten inch version would have to be already in production.

Interestingly, that angle might jibe with earlier reports that said the seven inch Kindle Fire was really little more than a placeholder to make sure they had something in the field in time for the holiday shopping panics. And if Amazon can get the ten inch version ready to go by, say, December 15th, they should be able to get it to people’s houses in time for Christmas. If they include free gift wrapping, they can cut it even closer and just take preorders whenever they please.

It’s a distinct possibility that a bigger one could be landing in time for Christmas, but it’s a safe bet to say that if you want one you’re going to want to get in while you can, lest something go wrong in the construction of the 10 inch model and prevent their arrival.

So what do you guys think? Will we see a ten inch Kindle Fire in time for Christmas? Or have you already put in your order for the seven inch thinking it won’t materialize? Either way, we want to hear from you, so head on down to the comments section and tell us what you think!

Just cancelled preorder of the 7″, to wait on the 10″. I feel the 7″ is too rushed and will have issues. I will let the have to have it firsts take the hit and let me know if it is good or bad.
