Facebook iPad App & Project Spartan May Hit The Stage At Apple Event
When last we heard about the Facebook iPad app via our own J. Angelo Racoma, we discovered that there weren’t any definite plans for the app and it may be a long wait until we actually see this thing land. But according to some new reports, there may be a plan in the works after all, to show the Facebook iPad app and Project Spartan alike on the same stage as Apple’s newest iDevices at Apple’s upcoming October 4th conference.

The truly interesting thing about these reports is that they even offer a backup plan: if Apple can’t fit them in in their show–which is a pretty likely state of affairs given that we’re talking about at least one new iPhone and quite possibly more from there–Facebook plans to introduce the products themselves on Monday, and either way will introduce them together. Just how Project Spartan and the Facebook iPad app work together (just what Project Spartan actually does, even, though earlier reports suggest it’s a means to get Facebook in on the hugely growing mobile app market) is as yet unclear, but at last report, they’re inseparable and must be introduced together.
Apple, for its part, wholly approves of the apps and is seen as a way to promote HTML5 over Flash, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this duo crop up at Apple’s October 4th show.
It is somewhat strange that, considering that Facebook just had their own show, the f8, last week, they didn’t show their own products there but rather waited for now to do it. Still, it would make some sense in light of the fact that these are clearly Apple-geared products with Apple’s approval, so why not piggyback off the wonder that will be Apple’s show?
So what do you guys think of all this? Think we’ll be seeing just what Project Spartan does in the near future? Not to mention how it works with the Facebook iPad app? Will we see them both at the Apple show or will Facebook try to get its own chunk of the news cycle for itself?
