Samsung Might Release Rollable Flexible Phone by 2012
With all the lawsuits Apple filed against Samsung, the latter’s best bet is to completely steer clear of similar designs to prevent further implications of copying. Back in CES 2011, Samsung showed off a few flexible displays (video after the cut), hinting at phones completely different from any device available on the market today. And according to International Business Times, Samsung might actually release a rollable, flexible handset in 2012 called Samsung Skin.

Samsung has long confirmed development of flexible displays, but a rollable phone was always considered just a concept. Until now. If the rumors are true, then by next year, we’ll have a handset that could be rolled or folded or worn as some sort of a bracelet or a wristwatch. Samsung Skin will supposedly sport a 4-inch WVGA super AMOLED flexible display, an 8 megapixel shooter, and a front-facing VGA camera. Operating systems will either be the Android Jelly Bean (that comes next to the upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich) or a completely new and different (but unconfirmed) Android Flexy.
Other specs include 1.2 GHz process, 1GB RAM, 16GB and 32GB storage capacity, and a whole other slew of specs you can commonly see on smartphones today. However, one special feature is the phone’s mouse functionality, which means you can use it as a mouse for your computer. Of course, all of these are just part of a rumor that is the Samsung Skin. While it’s not totally impossible, let’s all take this with a grain of salt.
