International Kindle Fire Release Date Not Available, But You Should “Stay Tuned”
Amazon launched today four new devices, and while the three new Kindle versions are certainly interesting, the star of the show was the new Kindle Fire, a tablet running a custom-made Android version and sporting a new, cloud-based, browser called Amazon Silk.

The device is going to be launched in November in the USA only, which is not exactly great news for international tablet fans interested in purchasing the tablet as the company has not announced a launch date for other markets for now.
Amazon Kindle vice president Russ Grandinetti told Engadget that those customers will have to “Stay tuned” for more details about an international launch, although he didn’t reveal any plans for Kindle Fire sales outside the USA.
Furthermore he offered the same answer when asked whether a 10-inch Fire is in the works. Previous reprots suggested that Amazon will be testing the market with the 7-inch device as a bigger, 10-inch Android tablet will come out of hiding at some point in 2012.
The Kindle Fire is not exactly the iPad 2 killer you may have expected from Amazon, and we’re actually glad to see the company launch a lower-end device first to test the waters. The device has the potential to eat away market share from other Android tablet makers, as Amazon has a hidden ace up its sleeve when competing for customer attention: lots and lots of content. Like Apple, Amazon is controlling all the content sources for its tablet, music, video on demand, apps and eBooks, which means plenty of more revenue from the company.
Too bad international buyers may have to wait a longer while to buy the device. In fact, earlier today we showed you that the same international buyers will not be able to snatch a Kindle, Kindle Touch or Kindle Touch 3G for the same low prices they will be sold in the USA, where Amazon’s ad system Special Offers is in play. In other words, if you want a 2011 Kindle device, whether an eReader or a tablet, you’d better get yourself one from the USA.
What new Kindle device are you buying? Kindle Keyboard, Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Touch 3G or Kindle Fire (vote in our poll)?
