YouTube HTML5 Web App Gets Redesign
YouTube’s HTML 5 web app just got a redesign that gives the interface a darker look, supposed to make video viewing easier on the eyes. The update was low-key, and wasn’t even officially announced. Further, you’re not required or prompted to change to the new interface, so you have to initiate the change on your own.

You have to go to a page on the YouTube’s mobile web site to initiate the download. Simply click “Try the new Visual Design!” (see image below on the gallery), and the app will update. What you get is an interface with dark-colored buttons, and an overall dark color palette. However, the one who broke the news, MacStories, says Safari’s blue address bar ruins the effect somehow. If you’re not bothered enough by that to skip getting the new YouTube update, you can visit the page linked above with your iOS device, and install the new interface now.
