Batman: Arkham City Xbox 360 Bundle Announced For Europe

I have to be completely honest here: I’m looking forward to Batman: Arkham City more than pretty much any other game on tap for release. I’m looking foward to Batman: Arkham City almost as much as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Mass Effect 3. That’s saying a lot too, because anyone who knows me knows that the Elder Scrolls and Mass Effect series are two of my favorite game series of all time.

I know I’m not the only one either – Batman: Arkham Asylum was one of the best games of 2009 and almost everyone who played it is looking forward to its sequel. Perhaps that’s why Microsoft and Rocksteady have announced this new Batman: Arkham City Xbox 360 bundle (actually, there is no perhaps – the anticipation is definitely the reason they’re doing it).

At the moment, this bundle has only been announced for Europe, but chances seem pretty good that they’ll be bringing it to North America eventually. Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn’t seem to want to give this Batman: Arkham City bundle the same treatment that they’ve given limited edition bundles in the past – there will be no special edition console found inside the box.

Nope! Batman: Arkham City has not been deemed worthy of a special edition console of its own. Instead your purchase will only net you a plain old black 250 GB Xbox 360, one controller, and a copy of Batman: Arkham City. This is a far cry from the snazzy Kinect/Xbox 360 bundle that Star Wars Kinect is getting, and Star Wars Kinect looks like it’s going to be as much fun as walking the dog while it’s literally raining crap outside. I’m still buying that Star Wars Xbox 360 though…

Anyway, this Batman: Arkham City Xbox 360 bundle will be out in Europe on the same day that Batman: Arkham City launches there: October 21st. As mentioned earlier, there’s no word on whether or not this bundle will be making it to store shelves here in the US, but we’ll be sure to update you when an official announcement is made!
