iOS 5 to Feature Facebook Integration?
We’re just a few days away from one of the most expected events of the year, at least by certain smartphone fans, not to mention the media, the announcement of the iPhone 5, and the rumors mentioning the new iPhone or iOS 5 keep coming in.

Apple is said to unveil the new iPhone models on October 4 at an event hosted by Tim Cook quite possibly on Apple’s home turf, the Cupertino-based campus. iOS 5 is one of the major features of the upcoming device, and while the new OS has been unveiled at WWDC 2011 back in June, there may still be some interesting, and unexpected features for iOS device users to discover.
Earlier today we looked at the Siri-based virtual Assistant and now we hear that Apple may offer Facebook integration in iOS 5 on top of the already announced Twitter integration.
The company explained Twitter integration in June, and while most iOS users would have expected to see the company also announce deep Facebook integration in its upcoming mobile platform that hasn’t happened.

MacRumors explains that such an unexpected move would be possible, although the screenshot above that suggests the whole Facebook integration in iOS idea features an easily recognizable spelling mistake:
Apple has provided Twitter integration into iOS 5 and included a framework to allow them to extend it to account integrations. So, Facebook integration as a system level feature would not be a stretch. These screens closely resemble those of Twitter’s integration and are likely just mock ups (addresses is spelled wrong).
The screenshot may have been faked, especially now, with a few days to go until the new iPhone arrives. We’ll also point out that no iOS 5 beta versions, and there have been seven of them so far, has suggested such Facebook features in iOS 5. Moreover, the social network announced various new social networking concepts during the f8 developer conference last week without revealing any details about any Facebook iOS-related initiatives. Not that Apple would have permitted Zuckerberg and Co. to disclose any upcoming iOS 5 features during a non-Apple event.
