Amazon Inks A Deal With Fox, Means Additional Movies & TV Episodes For Amazon Instant Video Users

Amazon Announces Latest Prime Video Addition, Fox Content Will Begin Streaming "Later This Fall"

Amazon has announced the latest (and still upcoming) addition to the instant streaming content — Fox movies and television episodes. Of course, the Fox content will join the others which have previously come available including CBS, NBCUniversal, Sony and Warner Bros.

All together, this brings the available content up to “more than” 11,000 which includes a mix of television episodes and movies. But back the this latest addition, the Fox content. The news comes by way of a message from Jeff Bezos which was posted front and center on the Amazon home page.

“I have big news for Amazon Prime members – we’ve just signed a deal with FOX to add a broad selection of movies and TV shows to our unlimited instant streaming service later this fall.”

The Fox content will include (but not be limited to) 24, Arrested Development, The X-Files, Ally McBeal and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In addition, it was also noted that The Wonder Years will be included, which comes as the first time this series will have been made available on digital video.

Otherwise, Bezos also noted that the Prime Instant videos have doubled in size since it was launched earlier this year and perhaps better news looking forward, there is “still more to come.”

That all being said, the Prime Instant videos can be watched on a variety of devices including your computer, Blu-ray players, HDTV’s and set-top boxes including a personal favorite of mine, the Roku. In terms of watching, you can either pay as you go and rent or buy or you can sign up for Amazon Prime. The Amazon Prime membership will set you back $79 per year and includes unlimited streaming as well as free two-day shopping on your Amazon purchases. And for those considering, but still unsure about Amazon Prime, there is a one-month free trial available.
