Aluminum iPhone 5 & Cheaper iPhone 4S Tipped Ahead of Release Date [Apple Rumored Again to Announce Two New iPhonne Models This Year, Launch Dates Not Official Yet]
Various reports seen in the last few months have claimed that Apple is going to launch not one but two new iPhones this year, an entry-level iPhone 4S and a high-end iPhone 5 version. A Deutsche Bank analyst also seems to believe that two fifth-generation iOS handsets will be launched this year.

According to BGR, the iPhone 5 is a “completely revamped design highlighted by a unibody aluminum case.” The phone will offer a better camera and a slightly bigger display, as previously rumored.
The iPhone 4S is supposed to be a low-cost version of the current iPhone 4 which would sell for $300-$350 unlocked thus allowing Apple to attack the prepaid smartphone market. Chris Whitmore, the Deutsche Bank Securities analyst, believes that a cheaper iPhone 4S would be an option for more than 1 billion prepaid customers.
That’s certainly an interesting point of view, and probably one Apple is very much aware of since its main rivals are already selling plenty of budge-friendly smartphones to prepaid customers. Not so long ago, commenting on cheaper iPhones, Tim Cook, still a COO at that time revealed that the iPhones aren’t supposed to be smartphones made only “for the rich.”
What the analyst doesn’t reveal are actual release dates for either model. Naturally we’ll advise you to hold on to a grain of salt while going through his note since analysts don’t always get it right. Of course one could argue that his assessment of the situation is pretty believable, but that’s because he’s basically painting a picture we’ve seen before. The iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S details mentioned by Whitmore seem so familiar because we’ve heard most of them in previous unconfirmed leaks and rumors.
Apple is rumored to announce the new iPhone at a special media event scheduled for October 4 and hosted by Tim Cook quite possibly inside Apple’s own Cupertino campus.
