Motorola Atrix 2 Press Images, Specs & Features Available

For some reason folks close to Motorola have leaked quite a few products this weekend, and after seeing the Xoom 2, the Xoom 2 Media Edition and the Droid RAZR, we’re now looking at press renders of the upcoming Atrix 2 (available after the break) and at more details about the upcoming device.

Sure, the Atrix 2 was leaked just recently but now we’re looking at actual press images of the device, which tell us that an the phone could be launched really soon.

The Atrix 2 will be heading to AT&T, just like its predecessor (shown in the first of the two images above), and the handset, formerly known as the Edison, will have some interesting specs and features to offer. The Atrix 2 is a 4.3-inch device that will sport a qHD display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of memory, up to 32GB storage support via microSD card with 2GB card in the box, 8-megapixel auto focus camera with single LED flash, battery capable of up to 8.5 hours talk time and max standby 15.9 days, Webtop support and Android OS.

The phone is expected to offer 4G capabilities although that still means HSPA+ connectivity. You’d expect AT&T to launch an Atrix 2 with real LTE support, considering it has started deploying its Long Term Evolution network, but that doesn’t appear to be happening.

The Atrix 2 will come with the same accessories that are available for the Droid Bionic and the original Atrix, including the Lapdock, a device that turns the smartphone into a working laptop. However Motorola will offer a new Lapdock for the Atrix 2, the Lapdock 100, a 10.1-inch model, smaller than the original 11.6-inch accessory. Thew new Lapdock 100 will connect to the smartphone via a cable, which will allow Motorola to use the device with other compatible devices, such as the upcoming Droid RAZR, also rumored to come with Webtop powers.

Despite looking at the press images of the device, which clearly show the AT&T logo (also notice the 4G connectivity indicator), there’s no release date available for the new Atrix 2, nor are there any pricing details public yet.
