CD Projekt Teases The Witcher 3, More Updates For The Witcher 2

CD Projekt Already Gearing Up For The Witcher 3, But Still Has Plenty Planned For The Witcher 2

Make no mistake, Cd Projekt Red’s The Witcher series has taken the gaming world by storm. The first one proved to be a cult hit, but it wasn’t until the second entry in the series that CD Projekt Red really seemed to hit their stride. They knocked it out of the park with The Witcher 2, managing to create a game that won the hearts of gamers and critics alike.

So, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that CD Projekt Red might be planning another Witcher game in the series. In an interview with Eurogamer, CD Projekt’s Jan Bartkowicz said that the team definitely isn’t done with the Witcher series, but couldn’t say whether their next game would be The Witcher 3 or something else set in the world of The Witcher.

We still have at least one big title ahead of us in The Witcher franchise. All I can say is – outside of when the pre-production starts and finishes – with the story team we were probably in pre-production for The Witcher 3 during making The Witcher 2. Just because even while we were doing The Witcher 2 it was all about, you know, there’s got to be probably something after. Of course we’re not announcing anything,” he added. “We cannot say, I cannot say – I don’t know if it’s going to be The Witcher 3 or something else that covers the story, but there’s probably going to be some releases in the future.

However, just because CD Projekt is anxious to get the ball rolling on the next entry in the series – whatever that next entry actually ends up being – that doesn’t mean that they’re finished with The Witcher 2. They’ve promised more updates for the PC version of the game, and if they’re anything like their recently-released update 2.0, gamers are in for a treat.

Not only that, but Xbox 360 owners still have their own version of The Witcher 2 to look forward to as well, which will come complete with all of the updates released for the PC version so far (including update 2.0). Whether or not The Witcher 2 will translate well from PC to Xbox 360, one thing is for sure: it’s definitely an exciting time to be a fan of CD Projekt and The Witcher.
