More & More Young People Own Own Cell Phones After Parents Succumb To Pestering

Primary school children are changing through the generations. When we were that age, we used to play with puppies and climb trees. Today our kids are running around with iPods and iPhones as their play things of choice. A recent study unveiled some interesting numbers including the fact that one in ten primary school kids own their ow iPhones.

When it comes to iPads, the number cuts in half to one in twenty but the results are just as interesting. There was also a good number of other interesting facts that came out:

  • One in ten primary school children had their own social networking profile even though most networks have an age limit of thirteen
  • 17% of parents bought their kids phones because they succumbed to pestering
  • 68% of parents felt comfortable buying their kids smartphones so they could keep tabs on them
  • 88% of parents pay for their children’s cell phone bill

It should be noted that of the 2,000 parents that were surveyed, half of them owned an iPhone or BlackBerry themselves and 72% owned laptops and tablets. There are more statistics that came out concerning children and their parents so check out the source link for more details.
