Cricket Wireless Announces The ZTE Score, Will Be Available With Best Buy On September 25th

ZTE Score Announced For Cricket; Features Include A 3.5" Display, 3.2MP Camera, Android 2.3 & A $129.99 No-Contract Price

Cricket Wireless announced their first Android powered Muve Music smartphone back towards the beginning of September, and well, it looks like they have quickly followed up with their second — the ZTE Score.

The ZTE Score will be available beginning September 25th and will be found by way of Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores. In addition, for those preferring to shop direct with the carrier, the handset will also be available with Cricket stores and dealers “soon.”

In terms of the price, those interested should expect to pay $129.99. And similar to other Cricket offerings, the ZTE Score comes priced at $129.99 — with no agreement. Furthermore, touching on that Muve Music support, that will come in with the $65 per month Muve Music Smartphone Plan. This plan includes unlimited talk, text, picture, and video messaging, 3G mobile data, mobile video, data back-up, and 411 assistance as well as unlimited song downloads, ringtones, and ringback tones. And for those curious about the success of Muve Music, Cricket notes that they currently have “more than 200,000 customers.”

Otherwise, in terms of the handset itself, the specs of the ZTE Score include the following a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, 600MHz processor, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

All said and done, this handset may not be for the power user or super geek, but it should be enough for most users — especially those looking for something simple in terms of cost. After all, this is a no-contract $129.99 and then a set $65 per month for basically unlimited everything — including music.

And to offer a bit more in terms of Muve Music, they are said to have “millions” of songs including full length tracks as well as ringtones and ringback tones. Muve Music users can pick the tracks they want and then use them to create playlists, use the My DJ feature or even share your tracks and playlists with friends. Lastly, Muve Music also has Shazaam built-in, for those times when you are trying to discover the artist name of a track that you currently hear playing when out and about.
