Some Motorola Atrix 2 Specs & Features Revealed, First Leaked Images Available Too
The Motorola Atrix was launched earlier this year, way back at CES, and while it definitely made an impression with Android fans, especially considering its unique WebTop capabilities, it didn’t really become a best seller for the company. The Atrix lost its momentum in the USA as consumers were more interested in Verizon’s LTE lineup, also made official in January.

In the mean time Motorola took its time to redesign and launch the Droid Bionic, an LTE handset that also comes with WebTop support, and an Atrix 2, also known as the Edison in some circles, seems to be just around the corner. BGR has uncovered the first images of the device, as well as some specs and features.

As it’s clearly visible in the images here, the new Atrix will also head to AT&T, although release dates and pricing details are unavailable at this point. The phone is expected to sport a 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz TI OMAP processor, Android 2.3.5 and an 8-megapixel camera with 1,080p video capture.
The first Atrix was sold as the Atrix 4G by the carrier, and one would expect its successor to come with actual 4G LTE powers since AT&T has turned on the LTE switch in its first five markets, but it appears the Atrix 2 will not sport such a feature.

Whenever it will launch, and that may happen rather sooner than later considering the images that we’re seeing today, the Atrix 2 will have to face some stiff competition, not only from the iPhone 5 but also from plenty of hot Android handsets. Among those we’ll mention the already launched Droid Bionic and the Galaxy S II versions or the upcoming the Samsung Nexus Prime and the HTC Vigor.
Is anyone particularly interested in a second Atrix model or would you go for a different smartphone instead?
