Padzilla Case Gives You Up To A 150-Inch iPad Screen

Plug Your iPad Into The Padzilla Case & Get An iPad Measuring Up To 150 Inches Diagonal

We’ve seen table-sized touchscreens before, from Microsoft Surface and beyond, but this may well be the first time in recent memory I’ve seen an Apple equivalent, and the strange part is, it isn’t even an Apple device. It’s the Padzilla case from the folks at Crunchy Logistics, and what they’re offering up is no less than an iPad case that’s about the size of your standard coffee table.

Basically, the Padzilla case–which isn’t really a case so much, that’s just the best descriptor available–allows you to plug your iPad (or your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, or iPod Touch) into this massive glass touch screen surface and use it in the same way you would use your iDevice, just in an exponentially larger format. And I mean larger: the Padzilla can be custom made in sizes starting at a 70 inch diagonal and going all the way up to a 150 inch diagonal, which is normally a number reserved for televisions you only see at trade shows. And you’ll get all the regular function, too, from editing documents on a much bigger scale to, if you were sufficiently inclined, playing Angry Birds with a slingshot that’s almost true to scale. Oh, and no jailbreaking is required; it’s strictly plug and play.

Naturally, a touch screen display larger than many commercially-available televisions is no small item, and will be priced accordingly. Crunchy Logistics is pegging the price of a 70 inch Padzilla at somewhere between $30,000 and $40,000 dollars. But in case that’s just a bit too salty for your tastes, you may take heart in knowing that that includes a free iPad.

It’s a great idea, and the video (which you can check out below) shows uses for an iPad that many could have only dreamed of previously. I’m certainly impressed by it, and the thought of having a Scrabble (or Words With Friends, I can’t quite tell) playing coffee table fills me with the kind of glee normally only reserved for new Bethesda releases. But at that kind of cash, I can’t imagine too many of them getting sold.

So what do you guys think? Think a 70 inch iPad screen is the kind of thing you can get behind? Or would you rather put that kind of cash on, say, a down payment for an entire house? Either way, we want to hear from you, so hit the comments section below and tell us what you think!

      Brilliant but unnecessary.

It would be nice to have if I had that kind of cash just sitting around waiting to be spent. Just to play some of the games the app store has to offer. But than again most games are just played when you are on hold, or just waiting for someone or waiting for the bus. I just can’t imagine me with one of these @ the bus stop playing Angry birds or something. But than again I probably won’t be getting one if I am sittin @ the bus stop now will I? It would be nice messing around with pictures on that scale though or editing hd videos. I wonder what the resolution is like on 1 of these things. Eh like I said earlier brilliant but unnecessary, but that’s only 1 persons opinion. A person with a pretty tight budget. ;o)

I heard the military is using iPads now, maybe they can throw a couple of Padzillas on top of those iPads that the already use.
