Mobile Game Developers Rovio Breaking Into The Publishing Scene?

Angry Birds Makers Rovio My Be Looking To Use Cash Surplus To Get Into Publishing

Just about everyone loves the game Angry Birds. Whether you play it on your iDevice, Android, or on your PC (via Chrome), who doesn’t love through cute little birdies at ugly, rood, pig-like creatures? In fact, it’s possible that this cute little game is costing businesses money in productivity because workers get so distracted by it. All of this popularity has brought Rovio, the developers of this awesome game, a good share of notoriety and more than their fair share of cash.

Believe it or not, they may just have some plans for some of that money. Fairly substantiated rumor has it that they are planning on getting into publishing. They got the money to invest, so why not? When is this going to happen and what kind of publishing business is in the works, we don’t know. Rovio executive Peter Vesterbacka is quoted:

We have some plans for this area, but not ready to announce yet. If we do something in the publishing area, you can expect it to be a bit different.

So there we have it from the man. They’ve got something “different” up their proverbial sleeve.
