Battlefield 3 Open Beta Kicks Off Next Week
Are you ready for this? Battlefield 3‘s release is just over a month away, but before it arrives, DICE is offering up an open beta for the highly anticipated military shooter. That’s right – there’s no stupid sign up, and there won’t be any waiting to see if an invite drops in you inbox either.

Nope! Anyone, be they PC, Xbox 360, or PS3 gamers, will be able to download the beta and play away starting on September 29th. Those who pre-ordered the PC version of Battlefield 3 through EA’s Origin platform or pre-ordered the console version of the Medal of Honor Limited Edition last year will gain access on September 27th, but that’s really the only stipulation to speak of.
Don’t expect to be getting an in-depth look at Battlefield 3‘s multiplayer though, because the only map that will be available during the beta is Operation Metro, and you’ll only be playing Rush Mode on that particular map. So, one map, one game mode. It could be worse (there could be no beta at all), but it has to be said that it doesn’t seem like you’ll be missing out on much if you give the beta a pass.

However, we won’t be giving the beta a pass, will we? It’s been built up so much that I must play as much as possible. If it’s Operation Metro, Rush mode, fine with me, and I’m sure you’ll be surprised how different each match can be even in the same location.
