Pantech Breakout Officially Announced By Verizon Wireless

Pantech Breakout Announced For Verizon, Will Be Available September 22nd With An On-Contract Price Tag Of $99.99

We have seen the rumors surrounding the Pantech Breakout and now we have the official announcement coming from Verizon Wireless. And nicely done, it looks like the rumored release date was indeed accurate.

That being said, the Pantech Breakout will be available beginning September 22nd. In terms of pricing, those interested can expect to pay $99.99 on a two-year agreement. Also worth noting, that price comes after a $50 mail-in rebate. In other words, you will need to shell out $149.99 on the day of purchase and then wait for your rebate to come back in the form of a debit card.

Moving past the release date and price, lets get into the features which include a 4 inch display and Android. More specifically, they include a 4 inch (480 x 800) capacitive touchscreen display and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

Other specs include 4G LTE connectivity, a 1GHz processor, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, VGA quality front facing camera, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with auto-focus and 720p HD video recording and a microSD card slot that will come pre-filled with an 8GB memory card.

In addition, the Pantech Breakout will have support for DLNA, the Swype virtual keyboard pre-installed, 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot (for up to 10 devices) and the Android Market which means all the apps and Google services that come along with.

All said and done, the Pantech Breakout seems to be another Android smartphone coming available with Verizon. In other words, the specs seems fairly standard across the board. But that being said, the price does seem to be on the decent side for a 4G LTE handset and if nothing else, the Breakout appears to have decent looks. Well, that is as long as you like the black and silver button layout on the bottom. And lastly, as with any Verizon smartphone, a data plan is required which starts at $30 per month for 2GB of data.
