Apple iCloud Data Reset Scheduled For Thursday
It’s time for some Apple fanfare again now that the next iPhone is widely-believed to come out very soon. But before the iPhone is the iOS 5 – a recent memo sent to the AppleCare Division of something big happening on October 10 hints at the new mobile operating system’s release. And yet prior to the final iOS 5 version is the iOS 5 Golden Master, which in turn is preceded by iCloud’s Backup data reset on September 22.

The announcement of iCloud’s reset was posted on the Apple Developer boards, and the source believes the iOS 5 Golden Master will see the light of day at around the same time. This lends credence to the earlier reports about the iOS 5 final version coming out on October 10.
This is what’s written on the Apple Developer boards:
On Thursday, September 22, the iCloud Backup data will be reset. Backing up to iCloud or restoring from an iCloud backup will be unavailable from 9 AM PDT – 5 PM PDT. If you attempt a backup or restore during this time, you will receive an alert that the backup or restore was not successful. After this reset, you will be unable to restore from any backup created prior to September 22. A full backup will happen automatically the next time your device backs up to iCloud.
In other Apple news, analysts expect two iPhones at launch – an iPhone 5 and a cheaper iPhone4S; something a lot of people believe will happen for a long time now. If it turns out to be true, we bet the world will explode in excitement. But as it’s yet to be confirmed, we suggest refraining from throwing iPhone parties just yet.
