Samsung Nexus Prime to Launch on November 3?
The iPhone 5’s main rival so far appears to be the unreleased Google Nexus 3, a device that’s almost certainly manufactured by Samsung, and heading to Verizon in the near future as the Nexus Prime, Galaxy Nexus, or Droid Prime, although it won’t matter that much what Big Red and Google end up calling it.

Today we hear the phone may arrive to Verizon on November 3 and there’s talk about LTE support and Android Ice Cream Sandwich. We already know the device will run ICS out of the box, since Google already confirmed the new mobile OS that’s supposed to be available for both Android smartphones and tablets and that it should be launched in October or November.
A recent leak suggested the Prime will replace the Droid Charge, a Verizon Android 4G LTE smartphone made by Samsung and launched earlier this year. Therefore it would make sense to assume the Prime will indeed offer true 4G powers. In fact, considering all the LTE handsets heading to Verizon in the coming months, we’re definitely expecting that a high-end flagship handset like the Nexus 3 will come with LTE support on board.
The November 3 release date originates from Twitter where a couple of sources are suggesting Nexus Prime details in form of a poem. More hints should be released as soon as certain requirements are met (numbers of followers, etc) therefore this could be just a marketing stunt.
The iPhone 5 is expected to arrive in early-to-mid October, and the Nexus Prime is said to be launched right after Apple’s next iPhone has been announced, to fight it directly in stores for market share and profits in this upcoming busy shopping season. But while Apple has already introduced iOS 5 during its WWDC 2011 event, and the iPhone 5 (and iPhone 4S) will be announced at a special media event in the coming weeks there’s no word on Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich and Nexus Prime announcement yet.
What about you, smartphone buyers, have you figured what your next smartphone is going to be? The iPhone 5 or the Nexus Prime?

What is your source from that this will be Nov 3? My contract with verizon is up on Nov 1st and this would be ideal for me! If they decide to push it to Dec or something I might go with HTC Vigor if that comes out first!
The source is available at the Source Link. Remember though this isn’t official yet and we’ve seen Verizon push back the launch of various devices so far this year.
Sweeeeeeeeeet!!! Super excited.
Nexus Prime. Or Galaxy Nexus, Droid Prime, Samsung Prime, or Galaxy Prime. Whatever it’s gonna be called, it’s my baby at 9 AM on November 3rd!
I have been holding out for galaxy s2 for vzw, now that they dropped it I will get the nexus prime/3/galaxy/donkey… whatever name they are going to use. Specs look awewsome, 4g would be a huge+, I hope they keep the bloatware to a minimum.
GO GO GO NEXUS SANDWICH WEEEEE!!!
If this is what I think it is. Then it will be like the original Moto droid. That was a pure google phone and i still have it. I really hope that this “superphone” will be like that…………but i cant help wondering how great it would be to get the HTC vigor and have the beats by dre tech involved…
My contract was up August 12… definitely waiting for the PRIME.
One thing though..before the phones were getting smaller and smaller.. now bigger and bigger screens. So.. is the PRIME going to be too large in size?
Rumors say it will be larger.
Rumored specs are 4.65″ SuperAMOLED HD screen… but if it truly releases with no capacitive buttons, it won’t be much bigger than the DroidX. Easily comfortable in the hand or in my holster :)
They should just go over the top on this guy. Add in the 3D screen from the Evo 3D too, as well as a good graphics processor (used as needed). As well as a battery add-on option that looks decent.
My sources (good friend who runs a company providing corporate cell and internet solutions, including sprint, att & verizon but hooks up his close friends with service) checked with his sprint contact. Per this senior sprint contact, the Nexus prime will hit both AT&T and Sprint on November 24th.
ya right.. cause google is going to launch(sponsor) a CDMA phone before a gsm phone…
i like pie, but sure, i will try your ice cream
