Nokia Windows Phones To Arrive By The End Of The Year
It has long been known that Nokia is abandoning Symbian for the Windows Phone OS. And interested parties have been waiting for the first Nokia-WP device to come out for quite a while now. The Nokia Sea Ray, in particular, was thought to be the first collab device. But there’s been no word about it thus far. Nokia used to have plans to ship 125,000 WP7 units by the end of the year, but while it does seem that the first devices will come out this 2011, it doesn’t seem those numbers will be met.

Someone messaged the official Nokia Twitter account asking for a confirmation of a fourth quarter 2011 release date. In typical 140-character Twitter fashion, Nokia confirmed a fourth quarter release with volume shipments by 2012. And while local availability (which means where the first devices will come out) can’t be confirmed, the responder dropped us a small nugget of hint at the end.

Will Australia be one of the first (or the very first) places to get Nokia Windows Phone devices? Maybe. Or maybe we’re just being trolled. Either way, it confirms earlier speculations of a Q4 release date, though when that is exactly is something we’ll probably know in the coming weeks.
