Chrome Web Store Now Available In 24 Additional Countries

Google Expands Upon Chrome Web Store Access, Will Have It Open In 24 More Countries As Of Today

Google originally offered up the Chrome Web Store some nine months back and at that time it was available only for those in the US. And well, while it may feel like the Web Store has been around for sometime now for those living in the US, many outside have likely been waiting to gain entry.

That being said, it looks like Google has opened up access for an additional 24 countries. The newly added countries include the following;

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Of course, those who have been outside the US and not able to access the Chrome Web Store may need a refresher on just what they will find. The Chrome Web Store, found within the Chrome browser or when using Chrome OS will allow the user to easily download browser themes, extensions and apps. The goodies include a mix of free and paid and according to the details posted by Google, it looks like “most countries” will be able to complete the transaction in their local currency.

And while a total of 25 countries having access seems like a good place to be, we are fairly certain that are more than a few that have been left off for one reason or another. Sadly though, as of now Google did not mention anything as to when any additional countries would be getting access to the Web Store.

All said and done, as a regular Chrome (browser) and Chrome OS user — I have to say the Web Store is a nice thing to have. Well, that combined with the way Google can keep my accounts in sync across multiple computers because not having to install the same extension or app on multiple devices is a nice thing.
