Apple iPad Developer Tells All About Apple’s Security Procedures Used To Keep New Products A Secret
There is an iPad developer who claims to have had the opportunity to work on a pre-released version of the device and has something to say about the level of security Apple deploys to keep their secrets. They even go through hoops to make sure, in the case of a leak, that they can trace it back to the appropriate developer.

There’s a whole list of procedures designed to keep secrets, well, secret. Here’s a few of what this developer reports:
- Everything done in a windowless room with new locks
- Only four developers are allowed in the room
- Apple took down names and social security numbers
- They secured the tablet to the table using bicycle chains
- Appearance of new iPad is disguised using a custom frame
- Pictures were took of the grain of the table in case pictures are leaked so they can trace it back to the developer who leaked it
- The developers could not tell anyone, even the CEO of their company or even their own wife
A company with such a high-profile as Apple needs to be mindful of security. Apple just about makes an art form of it. though.
