HTC Vigor, Ruby/Amaze 4G, Holiday & Runnymede to be Announced on September 20?

HTC Has New Smartphone Media Event: September 20, New York City

HTC announced, at a special September 1 event hosted in London, two new handsets, both running Windows Phone 7, the Titan and the Radar. It now looks like the Taiwanese phone manufacturer has scheduled a new smartphone event for September 20, this time taking place in New York City.

HTC doesn’t say what devices it plans to announce in just over a week from now, but this time around we’re probably looking at an Android-only presentation. There are simply too many leaks showing various devices, and they all appear to be ready for launch. These are, in no particular order, the HTC Vigor, the HTC Ruby/Amaze 4G, the HTC Holiday and the HTC Runnymede/Sensation Special successor. On the other hand, considering the “in style” remark, we’ll also have to consider the possibility of seeing something entirely different at this media event.

Back to the flagship handsets we mentioned, we’ll note we’ve shown them to you a bunch of times already, starring in various leaks, but let’s quickly look at each of them on more time!

The HTC Vigor is a Verizon-bound Android device that will probably sport 4G LTE capabilities while featuring a 4.3-inch HD display, a 1.5GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera, a front-facing camera, Android Gingerbread with some Sense on top. The phone seems to be an LTE-ready Droid Incredible successor if you ask me.

The HTC Ruby, recently referred to as the Amaze 4G in various leaks, appears to be a GSM version of the Vigor. This baby is heading to T-Mobile and its 4G skills should be rather read as 3.5G (HSPA+) magic. The latest Amaze 4G leak indicated the phone will offer the same kind of specs and features listed above for the Ruby. I’ll quote myself from a recent Amaze 4G post: “4.3-inch toushcreen display with 960 x 540 qHD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB built-in memory 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and Android 2.3 Gingerbread with HTC Sense 3.5 (also recently seen in the wild) on top.”

The HTC Holiday is a different LTE device for a different U.S. carrier. The phone will hit AT&T at some point in the near future and it will probably be the first real 4G handset heading to the mobile operator. The phone should feature a 4.5-inch touchscreen display with qHD resolution, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera and Android Gingerbread with Sense UI.

Last but not least is the Runnymede, which could be sold as some sort of a Sensation Special version. The handset, a 4.7-inch beast, appears to be HTC’s Android version of the recently released Titan. The Sensation is currently available from T-Mobile in the USA so it’ll be interesting to see whether the carrier will also get this product refresh. And this device is going to feature Beats sound support too.

What’s surprising so far is that neither one of these handsets has been rumored for to hit Sprint considering that every other major U.S. carrier seems to have lined up an incoming HTC smartphone for the near future.

Which one would you get and why?
