Samsung May Soon Stop Using Android & Develop Its Own In-House OS
Not too long ago we reported that the South Korean government has been suggesting that Samsung, among other companies, begin to pursue using other operating systems other than Android in light of current developments. We then reported on possibilities such as Samsung taking over MeeGo to use it as their own proprietary OS. Now the rumor mill is churning out yet another idea: they may be looking at using a new version of Bada as their Android OS replacement.

The rumor is that they would be updating Bada with a new Linux kernel and new design. Samsung has owned Bada for awhile now but it has been focused on lower end devices while the Android OS has been powering their higher end smartphones.
The rumor continues on with this being the reason they hired Steve Klondik (AKA Cyanogen) as a software developer. Is this possibly true? With rumors, it seems it doesn’t matter how well you know the sources, the truth may be murkier than first glances. The trite expression “we’ll see” seems to be most fitting here.
