New Android App Allows You To Track Your Dog If Lost

Geodog Mobile Uses A Separately Sold GPS Dog Collar To Help You Find Your Lost Dog Using Your Android Device

If you are a dog owner, you probably love your canine as if they were a part of your family. If your pooch were to go missing, you’d probably do pretty much anything to get your furry friend home again. As you have probably guessed it, you can now track Fido using GPS. The little green robot (Android, of course) can help you do the tracking thanks to a new Android app.

Geodog Mobile is a new dog-tracking system which uses an Android app and a separately-sold GPS dog collar to give you piece of mind knowing you can track your dog if it were to ever go missing. Here is a short list of the features available from the Android app:

  • Track location
  • Display topographical maps
  • Provide street directions
  • The ability to save maps for offline viewing (no data connection required if dog is within saved map location)

There are a few catches though. First, it is only available within the UK at the time so folks in the US or otherwise must wait to see if availability ever spreads. Secondly, the cost is quite astronomical. The collar itself costs close to $425 and the app costs about $100 (or $150 for the pro version). Basically, your dog might possible get stolen just for the costly collar that comes with it. Hmm. Either way, how much is your pooch worth to you, right?
