Evernote App Now Available For The BlackBerry PlayBook

Evernote Releases BlackBerry PlayBook App, Its Free & Currently Available In The BlackBerry App World

Coming as a rather nice surprise today, the folks over at Evernote have announced the availability of their BlackBerry PlayBook app. Yup, Evernote has come available for the tablet and can be downloaded as we speak from the BlackBerry App World.

The app is available for free and arrives as version 1.0.97. But perhaps a bit more important — the app appears to be rather full-featured and comes with a two-column view and the ability to quickly sort your notes between All Notes, Notebooks or Tags. You also have the ability to edit existing notes as well as create a new image note, audio note or standard text based note.

Breaking this all down a bit further and we learn that you can take the default two-column interface and expand your note into fullscreen. To do so, simply tap the arrow icons that sit to the left of the note title. And vice versa, simply tap the arrow icons to return to the two-column view.

Furthermore, the creation of notes allows you to attach files. Sure, you can create the audio or image notes, however you can also attach files that are already on your PlayBook. Otherwise, there is also the ability to search your notes.

That all being said, while we are fairly happy with the way the app has launched, the Evernote team did make mention that this was their first release on the PlayBook and they hope you like it and perhaps a bit nicer — that there is “more to come.” And just like that, the PlayBook has become just a bit more useful. Now if we could just see some others join Evernote in releasing an app for the PlayBook. And really, by that we are thinking in our minds that we would like to see Amazon make good on their promise of a Kindle app.
