Droid Bionic Release Date Is September 8 in All Verizon Channels & Costco [Motorola LTE Android Smartphone Nearing Launch, DroidDoes.com & DroidLanding Promotions Kicked Off Too]

Even though that Droid Bionic Twitter account that confirmed that September 8 launch date turned out to be fake that doesn’t mean the phone isn’t coming out on that day. In fact, according to leaked Verizon equipment guide and Costco document, the smartphone is indeed landing on September 8.

According to Verizon, the phone will be available through all channels on September 8 or in almost a week from now, although there’s no talk of a pre-order yet so you’ll have to wait some more to get your hands on it. The price of the device isn’t listed yet, but we all know what the Droid Bionic will cost don’t we? At least according to previously leaked details.

Costco will get the Droid Bionic on September 2, and by that I mean a “Droid Bonic display pallet” the will have to be held off sales floor until September 8. The company isn’t willing to share pricing details just yet.

Of course some of you would probably love to get this handset free of charge, and that’s a possibility, but, as always, it involves some hard work from your part. DroidDoes.com has an active Bionic page and the official @DroidLanding Twitter account is also interested in holding a new scavenger hunt competition for the Bionic.

We’ve seen this happen before, for other Droid handsets, such as the Droid X or the Droid Charge, and what you need to do is find the hidden Droid Bionic devices. The contest for the Droid Bionic has already started and it will end on September 7. Until then you’ll have to use your current Android device and use an augmented reality application to find the missing batch of Bionics.
