Samsung Galaxy S II LTE Coming to Rogers
Like it or not, today we’re going to see a bunch of Samsung Galaxy S II-related news as the giant South Korean company is getting ready to announce its U.S.-bound Galaxy S II flavors.

We’ve just seen the Epic 4G Touch get leaked, which is Sprint’s upgraded Galaxy S II version, and now it’s time to take a look at one other important family Galaxy S II family member, the recently announced LTE model, which has been confirmed today to hit Canadian markets via Rogers.
The Canadian mobile operator is yet to finish its LTE deployment but that doesn’t mean customers in certain markets won’t be able to enjoy this Samsung Android flagship handset soon. The phone, announced just last weekend, well ahead of IFA 2011, is going to offer a few different features when compared to the regular Galaxy S II model. The LTE version will bring you a bigger 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 4G LTE support right out of the box.
Unfortunately not all Rogers subscribers will get LTE speeds just yet. The carrier switched on its 4G network in Ottawa, on July 7, and Toronto is the next major area to get LTE starting with September 28 according to the today’s announcement.
Besides the Galaxy S II LTE, Rogers will have other LTE devices for interested consumers:
- LTE Rocket (Sierra Wireless Aircard 754S) – mobile hotspot
- Rogers LTE Rocket stick – available now for $79.99 with 3-year contract or $169.99 full price
- LTE tablet “from a leading manufacturer” – either the Motorola Xoom, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the unannounced HTC Puccini. Or is it something else?
- “previously announced HTC Smartphone” – the Thunderbolt?
Interested customers can already go ahead and reserve the LTE devices they want but the press released doesn’t mention anything about actual release dates and pricing for most of these gadgets and especially the Galaxy S II LTE. We’re also interested to get more details about LTE tablet and the “previously” announced HTC smartphone.

What we do have are details about Rogers’ LTE Flex Rate Plan. According to the official website, “each month the LTE Flex Rate Plan begins at the lowest tier then automatically adjust based on actual usage. What will it cost? Check out the table above for more details!
