Samsung Announces The Wave 3, Wave M & Wave Y Smartphones [Samsung Announces Three New Bada OS Based Smartphones, Models Include The Wave 3, Wave M & Wave Y]

While many are waiting for the event that Samsung has scheduled for later this evening, it looks like they have also unveiled three new Bada OS based smartphones. The models include the Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y, all of which will be running Bada 2.0 and are scheduled to come available in October.

That being said, while we do have some specs for each of these models — Samsung has already stated that these handsets will be on display during IFA 2011 which means we may be learning a bit more about them come September 1st.

Breaking these down a little bit and diving into the specs for each, lets first begin with the Samsung Wave 3, (pictured above) which is being touted as a “beautiful and chic smartphone.” The Wave 3 will arrive sporting features to include a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, HSDPA 14.4, HSUPA 5.76, 1500 mAh battery, VGA quality front facing camera, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash and a unibody anodized aluminum casing. The Wave 3 will measure in at 125.9 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm and weigh 122 grams.

Next up is the Samsung Wave M (pictured above) which will feature a 3.65 inch (320 x 480) HVGA display, HSDPA 7.2, 1350 mAh battery, a front facing VGA quality camera and a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with auto-focus and LED flash. The Wave M will measure in at 113.8 x 63.3 x 12.2 mm and weigh in at 121 grams. In addition, this handset will have an optional version with NFC support and come as the first ChatOn equipped smartphone.

Last up we have the Samsung Wave Y (pictured above) and this handset will have a 3.2 inch (320 x 480) HVGA display, HSDPA 7.2, 1200 mAh battery and a 2 megapixel camera with LED flash. The Wave Y will measure in at 110 x 58.2 x 12.3 mm and weigh in at 10.2.4 grams.

And coming as features across all three, the new Wave handsets will have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 3.0. With that, these are all expected to come available in October, however we are expecting to learn a bit more come the time IFA 2011 kicks off in Berlin.
