Motorola Defy+ Confirmed To Arrive In The UK This September

Motorola officially announced the Defy+ smartphone earlier this month and while they stated that the handset would be released in Asia, Europe and Latin America beginning in the early fall, they also stated that they would offer an update as an actual release came a bit closer.

And well, that day seems to upon us and Motorola has offered up some additional details in terms of the UK release. Granted, there are still quite a few more details that we need to find out but what we can tell you is that the Defy+ will be available for those in the UK beginning in September.

With that, there is the obvious in that the missing details include specific carriers and pricing. But that aside, given Motorola has made the official announcement, we suspect we will begin seeing carrier announcements sooner rather than later.

And for those who may have missed the original Defy+ announcement, this handset is being touted as “the life proof smartphone.” And given that, we state the almost obvious in that the handset will arrive as water resistant, scratch resistant and dust proof. Furthermore, the display, which measures in at 3.7 inches will have the scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.

Otherwise, some of the other specs for the handset include Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with a 1GHz processor, 2GB internal storage, a microSD card slot, 1700 mAh battery and a 5 megapixel camera with flash and digital zoom. In addition, those who make the purchase can also expect to find a 2GB microSD card included in the box as well as MOTOBLUR and pre-installed apps to include the Zinio e-magazine service, CardioTrainer and support for Adobe Flash Player 10.
