HP Alerts Those Interested, No TouchPads For “At Least A Few Weeks” [HP Sends Out TouchPad Availability Status Update, Uses It To Further Apologize & Also Try To Sell Other HP Products]

We saw HP offer a brief update in terms of TouchPad availability just yesterday and at the time it looked as if we may be seeing some more $99 tablets within a few days time. And well, HP has just recently sent out an email and came back with some not so stellar news.

In short, according to the details received from HP;

Thank you for your interest in the HP TouchPad and webOS. The overwhelming demand for this product in recent days has made it difficult to fulfill your request at the present time, and we are working to make more available as soon as possible. While we do not yet have specific details, we know it will be at least a few weeks before we have a limited quantity available again.

Bottom line, if you were hoping to get lucky and pick up a $99/$149 TouchPad — you will likely be waiting for at least a few weeks. That said, it could also end up being the case that no more come available. But hey, we will try and remain positive and believe that at least some will be available in the future. Then again, about that thinking positive — that is because some of the crew here at TFTS still hope to pick one up.

Otherwise, in addition to the brief update on the availability, HP also used the same email to not only offer an apology and restate their commitment to the customers — but they also offered up a discount code if you want to buy something else from them. Yup, they used the opportunity to let us know about the TouchPad to try and sell us something.
