BioWare; Mass Effect 3 Will Be Commander Shepard’s Last Game [BioWare Founder & Boss Confirms That The Hero Of Mass Effect Won't Return In Any Spin-Off Mass Effect Games That Come Out Later]
Although Mass Effect 3 will be ending the main Mass Effect trilogy, nobody really doubts that it’ll be the last Mass Effect game, considering that Electronic Arts has investors to please and money to make. It will be the last Mass Effect game starring Commander Shepard, however. Dr. Ray Muzyka, one of the two BioWare founders and boss (aka “the BioWare doctors”), has confirmed in an interview with PC Gamer that it’ll be the last ride for Commander Shepard.

Talking to PC Gamer, Dr. Muzyka said:
After this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete.
Then, when he was asked if that meant that Shepard wouldn’t make an appearance in any future Mass Effect games, Muzyka said “Correct.”
So, either they won’t allow Commander Shepard to appear in any Mass Effect side games (much like you’ve haven’t seen Master Chief in Halo: ODST or Halo: Reach), or they plan on axing off Commander Shepard with a big dramatic death at the end of Mass Effect 3. Maybe both. The series does have a knact for multiple endings, and like Dragon Age: Origins, maybe they’ll have an ending where you can sacrifice yourself to save Earth.
Folks are already contrasting this to Halo series, where 343 Industries announced at PAX that Halo 4 would be kicking off the “Reclaimer Trilogy” and that’ll of course feature Master Chief and more Master Chief.
What do you think? Are they right to retire Commander Shepard after Mass Effect 3, or should the Commander star in every Mass Effect game out there? Tell us your take in the comments section.
