AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Official: Specs, Features, Prices & Release Date
Unlike Sprint and T-Mobile, who decided to go for the bigger 4.52-inch Galaxy S II versions, AT&T will sell the regular 4.3-inch model that currently sells in Europe and other international markets. We’ll also notice that AT&T decided to go with the original name of the product, just like T-Mobile, and its model is apparently the thinnest of the three at 8.89mm thickness.

Here’s what AT&T’s GSM version of the Galaxy S II will have to offer, according to AT&T’s official press release:
- 4G – HSPA+
- Android (2.3 Gingerbread)
- GSM Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz)
- UMTS Tri-band( 850/1900/2100MHz)
- Screen: 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus
- Processor: 1.2Ghz x 2 (dual core)
- Camera: 8MP AF with LED flash + 2MP front
- Video Record: 1080p Full HD
- HDMI Out: HDMI via HDTV Smart Adapter with HDCP
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0
- Battery: 1650mAh
- Sensor: Motion UX, 6-axis gyroscope, proximity, light, noise (Audience A2220)
We’re looking at a HSPA+ 4G kind of device, so don’t expect any LTE capabilities from this baby. Samsung also has an LTE Galaxy S II version, similar to Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s models when it comes to size, but it may not be launched in the USA anytime soon. Verizon has decided to skip on the Galaxy S II in favor of the upcoming Samsung Nexus Prime (aka the Google Nexus 3), and AT&T, the other U.S. carrier deploying an LTE network, hasn’t mentioned any Galaxy S II LTE plans yet. The LTE version will however be available in Canada from Rogers later this year.
Getting back to the “regular” 4.3-inch handset hitting AT&T stores, we have a launch date for you, September 18, but no pricing details at this time. T-Mobile has been shy about both price tags and release dates, so at least you know when AT&T will have this baby in stores.
